This is a great idea. Besides getting the instant-read thermometer, you get an infrared measure as well. Great for checking grill temperature.

We bought this when we purchased a Blackstone Pizza oven but figured we could use it for many of our other cooking needs. It does not come with batteries so make sure you have 2 AAA’s on hand. As far as use, very easy and can be used with probe or infrared. This is one great addition to may outdoor (and indoor) cooking set up.

Great addition to grilling, knowing that the temperature of your grill is the exact temperature you desire and with the probe getting the internal temperature of your meat.

Stuck on Celsius (updated)

Just received this about a week ago It doesn't measure temperature in Fahrenheit, only Celsius. That won't fly in the US. UPDATE: there is a switch (hard to see) in the battery compartment (between the two batteries) where you can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The unit works perfectly.

You can check the surface of the grill easily. Plus, it has a probe to check the temperature of the food. Great product!
